Personal Trainer Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia Fairfax, Virginia, United States About this position About Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia The Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia (Pozez JCC), located in Fairfax, Virginia, is a nonprofit, social service organization that builds community and enriches lives. The Pozez JCC is a community connector, offering a variety of programs and services on the main campus, online and throughout Northern Virginia through its many partnerships. Quality programs and experiences, based on Jewish values, include early childhood education, after-school & day camps, social programs for families raising young children, J-Fit health & aquatics activities, adult learning and cultural programs, inclusion and disabilities services, community impact through volunteerism, and more. Programs are open to people of all ages and backgrounds. The Personal Trainer is responsible for providing quality Personal Training and designed to meet the needs of our members here at the Pozez JCC. Outside of their Personal Trainer position, J-Fit trainers have the flexibility to pick up additional fitness staffing opportunities which include, but are not limited to, group exercise classes, on-site clinics & workshops, and floor hours. The Personal Trainer reports to the Fitness Director. Qualifications: College degree in exercise science or related field preferred Certification in one of the following preferred: National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council of Exercise (ACE), American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA), Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) or other approved nationally accredited organization Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to work positively with different populations, in groups and individually Must be well-organized and prepared for their appointments Professional manner, discretion, and appearance Excellent verbal and written skills Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational Strong team player Punctual and Accountable Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury Main Responsibilities: Maintains a strong client base and assists in the renewal process of sessions Ensure that a safe and healthy environment exists for exercising Promotes all facility programs/activities by discussing other department areas that may assist members with a total facility experience Must keep current with facility calendar – programs, events, and activities Participates in facility events, activities, and seminars when directed by management Helps ensure facility is only accessed by actual members and/or guests, and that it is always safe and secure Attends all scheduled meetings Accepts other tasks and assignments as requested by Fitness Director Other Duties as Assigned: Recommend Personal Training and Group Fitness classes Promotes all facility programs/activities by discussing other department areas that may assist members with a total facility experienc e Must keep current with facility calendar – programs, events, and activities Participates in facility events, activities, and seminars when directed by management Helps ensure facility is only accessed by actual members and/or guests, and that it is always safe and secure Attends all scheduled meetings Accepts other tasks and assignments as requested by Fitness Director Hours: Flexible work hours based on client training needs/scheduling Pay: Competitive pay *Bonus Compensation Available* The Pozez JCC is an equal opportunity employer.
